This project consisted of a highly customized renovation of the rear guest house and studio space at 1737 N. Curson, with an approximate project value of $500,000.

The property was designed as a deeply personal and artistic space for a well-known actor, with the goal of creating an environment that reflected the owner’s individual personality, taste, and creative vision. Rather than following a traditional residential design, the renovation focused on developing a unique atmosphere through custom materials, distinctive finishes, and carefully selected colors and textures.

The renovated space includes a studio and one custom bathroom, with an interior concept inspired by the ocean, natural movement, and the rich tones associated with luxury design. The color palette and finish selections were carefully coordinated to create a dramatic yet calming environment, giving the studio a distinctive character unlike a typical guest house or residential renovation.

Extensive custom woodwork and specialty carpentry were incorporated throughout the project. Reclaimed wood panels and wall treatments were used as major design elements, adding texture, warmth, and individuality to the space while reinforcing the handcrafted character of the renovation.

The bathroom was completely customized with specialty materials, custom tile installations, unique finishes, and design details selected specifically to complement the overall artistic concept of the residence.

The project required close attention to detail in order to translate the owner’s creative vision into a functional living and studio environment. Every element from the woodwork and wall treatments to the tile, colors, and bathroom finishes was selected to contribute to a cohesive and highly personalized design.
